Changeling Dance

Changeling Dance Theatre is a dance company composed of differently-abled dancers, who work closely with the artistic director to develop their artistry through the creation of dance pieces.  Ultimately these choreographed works are performed, bringing their artistic message to the general community.  The dance company also serves the greater  differently-abled community by providing dance classes structured to meet their special needs and abilities.  Classes are also offered for older adults and those with limited mobility as well as mothers with babies or toddlers.  The approach to the company choreography and to the classes incorporates the best applications of Language of Dance® and elements of the Brain Dance.

Classes

Changeling Dance Theatre offers classes for the differently abled of our community.  Movement and dance classes include movement theory such as Language of Dance® and “Brain Dance” which support neurological development and ownership of the movement. The clear, descriptive concepts used in class allow each dancer to express their ideas, whatever their level of dance technique and physical ability.  Dances created with these principles, typically are clear, cohesive and structured, while allowing for and celebrating individual differences.
